People should see the Doctor's Offices and waiting rooms in Europe. Very sparse, very utilitarian. Very little decor-if any. Hard metal chairs..EVERYTHING will be completely different. And when you call for an appointment you cannot ask for or request a Doc, you get who they give when they give it. What if you do not like them or they will not listen. Tough. You either take what they give or you get back in the queue for another couple of weeks to months. Oh, also, and in many parts of Europe a Dentist is not called "Doctor" they are just "Mr." or "Ms." so and so (if that tell you anything).

Yes, the Insurance system here is flawed-big time but that does not mean the medical system is flawed, as many of these people are trying to incorrectly portray. Insurance has become a scam they charge more and more and pay for less and less. I supposed people feel good carrying around a useless card in their pockets. I could name one major carrier that is a SCAM but do not want to get sued. I will tell you that countries, like the one my family is from, that have a NHS (National Health System)-the residents pay 60-70% income tax. So, sorry to dissapoint, there is no such thing as "free healthcare". Why is this concept so difficult for so many Americans??? Americans are going to be in for one hell of a RUDE awakening. If they have ever been to the city of Dallas to pay a speeding ticket, etc. those are the SAME PEOPLE (government employees) who will be scheduling your appointment and deciding how serious your problem is. Oh AND think you are going to see a Doctor today, how about even this week or next week?? LOL...think again...some conditions have a SIX MONTH wait. My Tante (Aunt) died of bladder cancer in Amsterdam waiting 8 months to see a specialist. Also: When the government delivers your health care there is no "mal-practice" suits. I hope everyone likes what they have been wanting!!! One more thing: In a system like that Doctors are not esteemed nor do the best and brightest go into it. A Doctor in Northern-Western Europe makes what is equivalent to about 50,000 USD. They have NO IDEA the Pandora's Box that is about to be opened. People erroneously think their standard of care will remain the same and the only difference will be that someone else will be picking up the bill....LMAO. Also, in a system like this the government decides when to cut off care and when your situation is one that is either too expensive to treat or they deem your quality of life not good enough to go on living. Have fun folks!
