Conservatives Condemn Violence
Certainly nobody wanted violence in Lexington, 1775. Nobody wanted war with the British again in 1812 (The Second American Revolution). Certainly in 1917 nobody wanted to enter the first World War, nor did we (the people) want to be involved with the second World War in 1941. To be of fact, nobody ever wants war (ie: violence). I am among those who seek only peace and would never condone violence.
Yet a new Revolution has already begun. The American people have awoken to find that their country has not only been under attack, but that they have almost lost it completely. While the people were sleeping confidently in the knowledge that their liberty was secure (by the blood and sacrifice of thousands before them), they have been abruptly kicked out of bed to find that their liberties are almost completely gone. What happened?
It turns out that “Liberalism” (aka: Progressivism) is a stealthy cancer. Insidiously and slowly building up like a parasite within the body of the Republic. Coupled with the natural corruption of power that men shall seek for their own ends, it builds up layer upon layer, and eats away at the liberties granted to Man by God . Whether the intentions be for good or not – it continues to build. It often times sounds humane. But it forces the host to evolve until it can no longer be contained within the host itself. Eventually, and inexhaustibly, Liberalism will lead to oppression of the people by the very government they have installed to protect them. The inevitable result is, Revolution.
Fortunately, our system of governance has not yet been overthrown. The people still have the right to remove those who are attempting to subdue us into a world of Socialism. But time moves much faster today than it did in 1776. Rules and Laws passed by our Congress today can affect our economy at lightning speed. Even small movements in policy have big consequences, and can affect the lives of millions of people.
For the time being, the Revolution that has taken hold of America is held in check by our ability to remove those in power and repeal the legal damage that has been done (or will be done) by those whom we have elected. But elections don’t come fast enough. Tensions are running high. Emotions are strong. The country is more deeply divided and polarized than in any recent history.
The basis of Conservatism is that of encouraging dissenting opinion, hence Conservatives have allowed Liberal Freaks (who are a vocal, but small minority) to have their moment in the sun. But Conservatives are now discovering that True Liberal Freaks are not nice people and that Liberalism is not so benign of a belief system after all. For the moment, the outrage felt by Conservatives is focused on those who are in power in Washington. The question is, how long will the outrage remain focused on our elected officials?
We must take care to not be lured into physical violence. Remembering that Liberals, by their very nature are nasty little bastards. They will attempt to goat us into a fight. They are the ones who planted bombs in the 60′s. They are the ones who beat people in the streets. They are the ones who shout hate speech. They will exaggerate and amplify situations to suit their ends. The goal of which is to paint Conservatives as demons and find justification for further restrictions on liberty. Thus, giving Liberals more power. Which is really what this is all about. It really has nothing to do with Healthcare – It has to do with POWER. The rancid little urchins on the street are really just unknowing puppets for the elites in Washington.
We conservatives see this Healthcare debate for what it really is; a gigantic grab for power and control over the American people. We witness that that elitists in Washington are under the mistaken belief that they can (and should) have control over the people – in order to protect the people from themselves. That to secure liberty – some liberties must be surrendered. Yes, it is an oxymoron and it is a prostitution of our Democracy.
Still, the time has not yet come to take up arms. For now, we can and will abide by the laws of civil society and fight this Revolution in the courts and ballot boxes. However, let not us be intimidated by the rhetoric of the left. We must remember that most of those who oppose us do so out of ignorance and indoctrination. Most of them are sheep who are simply following the Sheppard to the slaughter. It is not their fault – they know not what they do. They are doing only what they have been told to do by the leftist leaders whom our battle is against.
While we may need arms to protect ourselves from those ignorant souls who are seduced by Liberalism, to instigate violence is not the way of the Conservative. We will protect and defend our lives and property, but we will not seek to destroy others. Should they knock down our door – to take what is ours – we will defend ourselves to our last breath. But until then, we must (and will) fight using all non-violent weapons we may muster.
This, is the American Way.
